The variety of IT security advice is huge. However, often contradictory recommendations can lead to citizens being overwhelmed. As a result, many choose to neglect their digital security. In times of advancing digitalization and home work, this can have devastating consequences.
DigiFit is a project aimed at developing and evaluating methods and tools to improve citizens’ digital fitness in the areas of IT security and data protection. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research for three years until September 2025. The methods and tools developed within DigiFit are designed to help citizens develop effective and secure digital habits. The aim is to promote long-term and robust behavioral change. The basis for this is a new, positive concept of digital fitness.
