Ann-Kathrin Mertineit
Ann-Kathrin Mertineit is a research associate and doctoral student in the research group Educational Psychology and Technology at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany.
Her research focuses on capturing mental models of IT security among citizens. The results from qualitative and quantitative studies during the project are used to design interventions for different target groups.
Previously, she worked as a research assistant at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. She studied adult education/further education with a focus on media pedagogy and qualitative research methods at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where she held several student and research assistant positions.
The research group examines principles and conditions of learning in different domains and settings. The goal is to gain a better understanding of learning mechanisms and to derive implications for educational practice. In our research group, we investigate cognitive, motivational, and social aspects of learning by employing experimental research methods in laboratory and field studies. A main research focus is on developing and evaluating digital, instructional support. In our studies, we are using adaptive instructional support to optimize learning in digital settings. We use learning analytics methods to examine both problem solving as well as collaborative processes. More information about the research group: http://pp.rub.de
